how many hours are needed for mixing?
It all depends on the type of music as well as your budget, but here are some rough estimates to give you an idea...
By Genre:
Hip Hop: from 1 hour (no effects) to 3+ hours (with effects and additional vocal tracks).
Rap-Rock hybrid: 5-6 hours
Rock: 6-8 hours
By Budget:
Small : a usable mix in a couple of hours
Medium: 6-12 hours
Large: the sky is the limit...when do you want it?
In the professional world, mixing takes anywhere from 8-12 hours, but don't let this intimidate you. We can work around your budget, big or small. Our studio is here to help you regardless of your budget.
why is mastering an important last step?
Mastering can mean the difference between a song that sounds just okay to one that sounds hot and relevant.
Many independent artists fail to get their songs mastered and then wonder why their songs don't sound as polished as the ones you'd typically hear on the radio. Please don't make that same mistake. Our mastering service is reasonably priced so there's no reason not to get your tracks mastered.
Prepare your tracks for mastering:
If you would like us to master a song that was recorded at another studio, please do not send us MP3 files for mastering, unless if this is your only option.
We generally recommend .WAV or .AIFF files for best quality.
